The winemaking process involved hand-picking the grapes in mid-October, followed by a gentle destemming and maceration period where alcoholic fermentation took place. After fermentation was complete, the wine underwent mild pressing, followed by malolactic fermentation in a stainless steel tank. Once malolactic fermentation was finished, the wine was transferred into used 500-liter French oak barrels, where it rested on fine lees with regular stirring for one year. No sulfur was added to the wine until bottling, allowing for gentle oxidation and softening of the tannins that developed during the extended maceration process.

However, a deeper dive into its color palette reveals a mesmerizing range of hues, reminiscent of resplendent gold or a gentle caress of amber. Delicate whispers of bread crust and velvety butter further enchant the senses. As the elixir graces your palate, prepare to be astounded by its pronounced minerality and intricacy. The beguiling spices and herbaceous essences persist throughout, harmoniously interwoven with autolytic nuances. Tantalizingly integrated tannins and a divine undercurrent of minerality accompany your every sip, ensuring a celestial symphony of flavors from the first pour to the lingering crescendo. Allow this illustrious libation to accompany your gastronomic endeavors, particularly those featuring succulent mushrooms, the delicate charm of chervil, and the seductive allure of freshly baked goods. Mistik is a mystical wine, just like the mystical character of the Kurent.
Each vintage is special, different, and mysterious. Every year we use grapes from only one vineyard, and each year another variety, it is grown and matured according to different technological procedures.
Mistik symbolically connects the two pillars of tradition and identity of the city of Ptuj – ethnographic-carnival and wine. This wine was presented for the first time in 2016 and is the result of cooperation between the Ptuj Wine Cellar and the Association of Kurent.
